Open Call for Participants - Act 0: Rehearsing Rehearsal with Aliaskar Abarkas.
A space for collective choreography, composition, and what is yet to come.

Aliaskar Abarkas, a cohort member of the Rose Choreographic School, invites participants from a wide range of practices to take part in a series of gatherings at Sadler’s Wells East. These sessions will include performative activities, readings, sound-making, and more. Aliaskar’s research asks: what choreographic conditions allow for the formation of temporary collective attunement across the compositional logics of scoring, movement, and sound?

The workshops will involve guided improvisation techniques and loosely structured choreographic directions, led by Aliaskar alongside participants and invited guests.

We welcome expressions of interest from poets, dancers, puppeteers, musicians, and anyone who is curious about or may benefit from engaging in a collaborative, interdisciplinary learning environment and mutual exchange. We offer space to gather, experiment, and share practices—prioritising collective research, process over outcome, and a supportive context for artistic exploration.

Start date - Wednesday 24th September 2025

Workshop Schedule - Sessions will take place irregularly on Wednesdays or Sundays, approximately 1–2 times per month. The first five sessions are as follows:

- Wednesday 24th September, 7pm-9pm
- Sunday 12th October, 3pm-5:30pm
- Sunday 2nd November, 3pm-5:30pm
- Sunday 30th November, 3pm-5:30pm
- Wednesday 17th December, 7pm-9pm

Cost - Free of charge

Eligibility and Commitment - Participants need to be 18+. Participants will need to commit to attending sessions regularly, understanding that availability may shift over time.
