Mistranslation

Mistranslation (noun): A creative process that involves exploiting the shifts that occur when one performs a rough translation. A bad shift, an erroneous transformation. This process often involves moving from one language to another, always playing with sounds, rhymes, flow and meaning as the new, unexpected version re-emerges. Mistranslations are emblems that speak of moving from one culture to another, from one state of being to the next. It is an endless process that often leads to cultural and linguistic misconceptions.
